Outside The Classroom
- The Academy has a deserved reputation for sporting excellence and all students are encouraged to participate in a large number of sporting activities and events.
- Homework Clinics are offered in a variety of subjects so that students can access our excellent resources outside the Academy day.
- Students are encouraged to partake in a wide variety of music and creative arts activities.
- After-Academy support is arranged for students who need additional help.
- The Young Enterprise project, sponsored by local businesses, operates in the upper school and our Sixth Form. Over the years our students have collected many awards in their annual competitions.
- The Academy supports students who wish to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
- Students have the opportunity to take part in a number of educational visits which support key elements of the curriculum.
- There are numerous local and national educational competitions that the students enter.
- Students are encouraged to complete various 'Stretch and Challenge' activities suggested by each Curriculum Area. Details are on the 'Stretch and Challenge' page of the website.
